What you can borrow
Our collection includes over 45,000 titles.
You can borrow from the Library fiction and non-fiction, poetry and translations, social studies and historical essays. The newest acquisitions, children’s books and other publications placed in our open-access reading area can also be borrowed.
What you cannot borrow
As we want to preserve our collections for future generations in the best shape possible, valuable books, periodicals and publications dating from before 1960 may only be accessed in the reading room of the library. Please speak to a member of our staff to find out more how we can assist you.

Would you be interested to donate your books to us?

Please first take note of our guidelines.
Currently, as a priority, we welcome donations to replace damaged and lost books in our collection, including rare editions and documents, emigrant publications, and children’s books, which are in constant demand among our readers. To our great regret, we are unable to accept all the books currently offered to us through donations, despite the fact that we see many to be extremely fascinating and valuable. The reason is simple: our storage space is quite limited.
Please consult our wish list (desiderata), which lists the books we accept as a priority.
See the list in a stand-alone document
If this list contains books that you would like to donate to us, please use the form below. Please copy the titles of the books you wish to donate and send them to us, along with your contact details.
You can visit, write to us or call us if you have any questions about the process. Once you have obtained the approval from the librarians, you can bring the books on the wish list to the library during our opening hours.
We look forward to receiving your donation! Thank you for considering our library as a place to host your books!
